As the world knows, China has become the world's second largest economy. However, despite this, the Chinese economy remains difficult to understand. Many things impede research into its intricacies, among them China's unique institutions, a scarcity of institutional knowledge and high-quality data, and imperfect connections between academia and policy makers. CCE's mission is to help remove these barriers.

CCE will organize a variety of regular events on both academic and policy fronts. The Center will also collaborate with the Chinese government to develop institutional knowledge and data resources for academic research. Furthermore, CCE will regularly publish working papers and policy reports, promote research in mass media, and provide policy suggestions.

Our research team is composed of leading and active scholars on the Chinese economy. We are currently focusing on three fields: 1) China's growth and institutional transformation; 2) empirical analysis of microeconomic behaviour in China; and 3) global perspectives on China's economic fluctuations.

Now and in the future, CCE is committed to promoting academic research and policy studies on the Chinese economy, and to making contributions to China's economic development.
